There is no such thing as an O2 MAF sensor, these are two different things. What was the actual number of the fault code logged? Have you have the code(s) read again since the light came back on and was the code the same?

Would still like to have the actual code number. There are two O2 sensors on bank 1, of the exhaust system. (The 5 cylinder car only has bank 1) One is nearer the engine and the other is in/after the CAT. So there is not enough information to determine which one is being indicated as faulty. The MAF sensor is nothing to do with this fault.
It's interesting that you should be reporting these symptoms as our V70 has been doing the same over the last week. Light on one day, off the next type routine. Seems that it can't be so bad if it is intermittant... surely? No difference in performance with light on either!

From memory, which I've proved on the 850 forum is not what it was, the front sensor is reasonably easy to get to. The rear one is actually in the top of the cat is more difficult and needs a lift and a special lambda sensor socket to replace. I would expect the front one is the problem, if your car has the Denso engine management system (non turbo system) then the original sensor is expensive to come by but there is an equivalent from another manufacturer, Walker I think. Have a search for Denso sensor on this forum.
