glad to have joined the club,hi to all,i am not to up on volvos,i used to have a 740 some years ago but wife kept smashing it up so got rid of it.i now have a 95 960 estate,i keep getting a red light under the fuel guage that comes and goes.recently has begun to stay on,thought you guys might be able to help in letting me know what it is.also the vacumm pipe that comes off the flame trap, where does it connect to,a photo would be good if its not easy to describe, thanks
Hi, I think the little red led is a warning for the fuel level? How has your guage been working recently? Welcome to the forums and hope you enjoy the stay here.. :) Des. . . ;)
Yes, that the only little red light I can think of as well? Sadly we occasionally have to put fuel in. It will flicker at first as quite a few of the low fuel systems use a float in the tank and as the fuel sloshes about it activates deactivates the warning until it's dropped to a level where it remains on all the time. When it's on permently you usually have around 5 litres left in your Tank. Let us know if it's not this, but can't think what else it could be. vipes

sorry guys,i have a orange light built in to the fuel gauge that comes on when fuel is low but this 1 is underneath the gauge, thought it might be something to do with maybe emmisions.any ideas on vacuum from flame trap?
Can you describe the icon on the lamp? I must admit I can't envisage the lamp you're referring to :( - I assume its not part of the fuel gauge, but part of the strip of warning lamps?

Hi, Does it have a snowflake symbol next to it? On my 1996 Volvo 960 there is an outside temperature gauge underneath the fuel gauge. When it's less than 2'C a red light illuminates. Dave
Mmm,yes i have the lcd outside temp gauge, and this light is on the same level as that, but to the left of it,there are no other lights after that, any ideas on the vacuum from the flame trap as to where it connects to?

If I recall correctly, the vacuum hose goes from the flametrap to the vacuum tree. If you're still looking for the vacuum tree it's probably easiest to trace back the other vacuum hoses to it. In the picture you can see a couple of yellow ones, just to the left of the oil dipstick.
